The past year has been very successful for the Mississippi Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Stores Association. Many companies have come under stress over the past two years due to market conditions but the association's membership has grown. The association and members have been successful in making the necessary adjustments to accommodate for the changes in the economy. The 2014 convention was very successful with approximately 264 attendees. The convention offered members the opportunity to take part in different educational seminars. The association also held their annual trade show which sold 109 booths. During the year the association held three seminars to help train members in areas of interest.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 2 Rex Gillis is a partner of Victory Energy and Dave Evans is an employee. However, Dave Evans died on November 25, 2013. Clifton Van Cleave and Lane McCarty are both members of the board of directors and are employed by the same company. Stanley Roberts and Stan Roberts are father and son that both work for Capital Oil.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11 A draft of the Form 990 is provided to both the Executive Director and the Board of Directors. The draft is reviewed and discussed and any questions brought up by the board members or the Executive Director are answered and/or cleared before the return is filed.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c The conflict of interest policy is provided to the Board of Directors and key employees annually. Discussions of any conflict are disclosed and recorded in the minutes. Any conflicts of interest that arise during the year are resolved by the Executive Director and/or the Board of Directors and are recorded in the official board minutes.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 15 Compensation for officers, directors and key employees is determined based on an analysis of similar sized organizations and comparable data received by MSAE survey results. The personnel board reviews this information to determine the salary of the officers, director and key employees. The Finance Committee approves the compensation and the total amount is given to the Board of Directors.
