What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The purpose of USCA is to present an effective voice for the US cattle industry and to participate in issues facing family ranchers in the United States, by communicating with members and by organizing efforts to promote ranching and the revitalization of rural communities.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 ON DECEMBER 1, 2008 CANADA FILED A FORMAL WORLD TRADE ORGANIZATION DISPUTE CONSULTATION REQUEST AGAINST THE US REGARDING OUR COOL LAW AND REGULATIONS. USCA MONITORED THIS COMPLAINT CLOSELY AND WAS COMMITTED TO A VIGOROUS DEFENSE OF THE COOL LAW. USCA MAINTAINED A SPECIAL FUND TO SOLICIT CONTRIBUTIONS TO HELP DEFEND COOL. IN THE FALL 2012 THE WTO RULED COOL WTO COMPLIANT BUT CERTAIN ISSUES REMAINED TO BE ADDRESSED. IN JULY 2013 USCA BECAME A DEFENDANT-INTERVENOR IN A LAWSUIT TO DEFEND COOL. USCA ALSO BECAME INVOLVED IN DEFENDING COOL BEFORE THE WORLD TRADE ORGANIZATION AFTER IT WAS CHALLENGED BY MEXICO AND CANADA AND USCA REMAINED ENGAGED IN RETAINING CONGRESSIONAL FUNDING FOR THE CONTINUED IMPLEMENTATION OF COOL.
