What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? TO MAINTAIN AND FURTHER DEVELOP THE INTEREST IN CLASSIC AND SPECIAL INTEREST AUTOMOBILES IN THE SAN LUIS VALLEY. SAN LUIS VALLEY EARLY IRON, INC. HOSTS AN ANNUAL CAR SHOW OVER LABOR DAY WEEKEND. THE THREE DAY SHOW BRINGS VISITORS FROM COLORADO, NEW MEXICO, UTAH, ARIZONA, AND KANSAS. VISITORS TO THE CAR SHOW CONTRIBUTE APPROXIMATELY $500,000 TO THE LOCAL ECONOMY.

THE ANNUAL CAR SHOW PROVIDES A LARGE ECONOMIC BOOST TO THE CITY OF ALAMOSA WITH APPROXIMATELY $300,000 IN DIRECT SPENDING AND SALES TAX OF APPROXIMATELY $21,000. THE ACCOMMODATION INDUSTRY GENERALLY REPORTS THIS AS ONE OF THEIR BEST WEEKENDS IN SALES.
