What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The purpose of the Brockway Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration is to provide our community, surrounding area and Western Pennsylvania with an old-fashioned Independence Day celebration.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 All activities associated with the Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration are free to the public and consist of games, patriotic programs, and various entertainment and cultural events that lend themselves to all ages. The celebration is capped off with a parade, followed by a gigantic fireworks display considered to be the best around.All events are donated, sponsored or paid for by community and area organizations, businesses and individuals. Additional revenues necessary to provide a celebration of this magnitude are obtained through fund raisers throughout the year, and a collection taken along the parade route during the time of the parade.Non-profit organizations, upon the approval of the Executive Committee, are permitted to sell refreshments in the Park during the celebration. These non-profit organizations traditionally include Scouts, civic groups, churches, athletic booster clubs, ambulance services and police organizations. Sidewalk sales are not permitted in the Park and are carried out outside of the auspices of the Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration.We believe that the events provided create community pride, cooperation and participation. This celebration provides a clean, non-carnival atmosphere and several cultural events not always available or affordable to residents of a small, rural community like Brockway.The Brockway Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration is a time of family and friend togetherness that is attended by thousands of people from all over. Family and friends schedule their vacations for the celebration in order to come home or visit our community.The time and efforts of our all-volunteer committees are immeasurable. Monthly meetings, beginning two weeks after the celebration, are supplemented throughout the year by additional time and efforts of sub-committee members.
