What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? THE PURPOSE OF THE GREATER SPRINGFIELD AREA SPORTS COMMISSION IS TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE AND TO STIMULATE POSITIVE ECONOMIC GROWTH FOR OUR COMMUNITY BY PROMOTING AND DEVELOPING THE GREATER SPRINGFIELD AREA AS A SPORTS VENUE FOR QUALITY AMATEUR, COLLEGIATE, AND PROFESSIONAL SPORTING EVENTS.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 THE ORGANIZATION ENHANCED COMMUNITY LIFE BY SUPPORTING THE FOLLOWING SPORTS ACTIVITIES: -NATIONAL CHRISTIAN HOMESCHOOL BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS: 350 BASKETBALL TEAMS FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY ATTENDED THE 6 DAY TOURNAMENT IN SPRINGFIELD. -NATIONAL CHRISTIAN HOMESCHOOL FALL NATIONALS & TIP OFF BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT: CLOSE TO 200 TEAMS FROM APPROXIMATELY 20 STATES COMPETE IN THE CHAMPIONSHIPS IN SPRINGFIELD IN THE SPORTS OF SOCCER, VOLLEYBALL AND CROSS COUNTRY. -NATIONAL CHRISTIAN HOMESCHOOL SPRING NATIONALS: THE SPRING NATIONALS FEATURES OVER 1,000 ATHLETES IN SPRINGFIELD COMPETING IN SOCCER, TRACK & FIELD AND GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS. -PREMIER BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS: TWO CHAMPIONSHIPS WERE ADDED TO THE SPRINGFIELD SPORTS MIX WITH THE PREMIER BASEBALL INCOMING FRESHMAN CHAMPIONSHIPS AND THE SENIOR BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS.
