THE PROGRAM INITIALLY HAD ONE MISSION; TO ESTABLISH MIDDLE SCHOOL CREDIT CURRICULUM IN AN EXCITING NEW "NON-TRADITIONAL" CLASSROOM, ON THE WATER. OUR CURRICULUM STILL MEETS THE HIGH IDEALS OF, AND IS DIRECTLY TIED TO THE NATIONAL EDUCATION STANDARDS, NATIONAL PHYSICAL EDUCATION, AND NEXT GENERATION SCIENCE STANDARDS, AND PROVIDES INFINITE COMPONENTS TO UTILIZE IN STEM PROGRAMS AND RAPIDLY GROWING STEM SPECIALTY SCHOOLS AND UNIVERSITIES. SPIRIT OF AMERICA HAS AN OFFICIAL PRESENCE IN NEW STEM SCHOOLS, PROVIDING CURRICULUM MATERIALS TO UTILIZE YEAR ROUND. OUR CURRICULUM HAS ALSO BEEN USED FOR ENGLISH PROFICIENCY AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION CREDITS. WE EMPOWER OUR YOUTH, MEETING OUR EXTREMELY IMPORTANT UNDERLYING GOALS TO DEVELOP CONFIDENCE, SELF ESTEEM, TEAMWORK, AND SAFE BOATING PRACTICES WHILE NURTURING RESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOR THROUGH EDUCATION. WE CONTINUE TO PROVIDE A UNIQUE, SAFE AND EDUCATIONAL INTRODUCTION TO ALL TYPES OF BOATING AND WATER BASED ACTIVITIES IN THE MOST DIVERSE "HANDS-ON" CLASSROOM IN AMERICA. THE CURRICULUM ALSO INCLUDES THE NATIONAL "KNOWLEDGE-BASED" AND "ON-WATER" COURSE STANDARDS (UNDER DEVELOPMENT). WE ARE COMMITTED TO OUR LEADERSHIP ROLE ADVANCING THE PROMOTION OF EDUCATION IN, UNIQUE TO SPIRIT OF AMERICA, ALL DISCIPLINES; STATE BOATING EDUCATION COURSES, DROWNING PREVENTION, WATER COMPETENCY, AND EQUIPMENT AWARENESS, SAIL, PADDLE (CANOE, KAYAK SUP), POWER (JON BOATS, LARGE VESSEL, PERSONAL WATERCRAFT) AND THE SAFETY INSTRUCTION FOR ALL RECREATIONAL BOATING ACTIVITIES.
