What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? We are a local chapter of Rotary International, an international service organization whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. The object of Rotary is to encourage & foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster: The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service; High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society; The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life; The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

Explanation:

I hope this will get on time. However I am close to the deadline. After filing the extension in November I received a EIN Assigned in Error form(December 1, 2015) which notified us we should use EIN 90-0625947 instead of EIN 85-6016417 which we were notified to use on September 29, 2014. I did a fair amount of the electronic form using the old number since I didn't realize I needed to make a new account for the new EIN number. It also took awhile to communicate to IRS on these two conflicting EIN assignment documents and to get accounts changed over to new EIN number.
