ON JULY 1, 2014, THE AGENCY WAS ACQUIRED BY MEETING STREET, A RHODE ISLAND 501(C) (3) NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION, IN A TRANSACTION ACCOUNTED FOR AS AN ACQUISITION. IN AN AGREEMENT RATIFIED BY THE AGENCYS BOARD OF DIRECTORS ON APRIL 22, 2014, MEETING STREET BECAME THE SOLE CORPORATE MEMBER OF THE AGENCY EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2014. MEETING STREET IS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ENTITY THAT SHARES THE AGENCYS MISSION OF PROVIDING COMPREHENSIVE EDUCATIONAL, THERAPEUTIC AND DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES TO CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS IN RHODE ISLAND AND SOUTHEASTERN MASSACHUSETTS. MEETING STREET CURRENTLY OPERATES WITH SKILLED STAFF, IN PART OF THE REGION NOT SERVED BY THE AGENCY. THEREFORE THE ACQUISITION PROVIDES MEETING STREET THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPAND ITS SERVICE AREA.
