Briefly describe the organization’s mission: To promote excellence in healthcare and the betterment of the health of the American people by providing advocacy, representation and leadership for the specialty of Family Medicine; providing responsible advocacy for and education of patients and the public in all health related matters; to preserve and promote quality cost effective health care, promote the science and art of family medicine and ensure an optimal workforce of well trained family physicians; to promote and maintain high standards among practicing Family Physicians and provide for the continuing professional development of the membership and to maintain and provide an organization with high standards to fulfill the above purpose and represent and serve the needs of the members
