What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? THE USAA GOLDEN EAGLE CLUB FOSTERS FELLOWSHIP THROUGH RECREATIONAL AND OTHER NON-PROFIT ACTIVITIES, PROMOTES COMMUNITY SERVICE, AND SERVES AS GOODWILL AMBASSADORS BY STAYING INFORMED ABOUT USAA ACTIVITIES.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 FOSTERS FELLOWSHIP, PROMOTES COMMUNITY SERVICE, AND HELPS MEMBERS STAY INFORMED ABOUT USAA ACTIVITIES: THE GOLDEN EAGLE CLUB PUBLISHES A CLUB DIRECTORY ANNUALLY, A NEWSLETTER THREE TIMES A YEAR, AND HOSTS THREE LUNCHEONS A YEAR AT EACH CHAPTER. THE DIRECTORY HELPS MEMBERS MAINTAIN CONTACT WITH ONE ANOTHER. THE NEWSLETTER INCLUDES CLUB INFORMATION AND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AS WELL AS CHAPTER NEWS ABOUT MEMBERS, THEIR TRAVEL, AND THEIR VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES. LUNCHEONS ARE A TIME TO RECONNECT WITH FORMER COWORKERS AND FRIENDS. ONE LUNCHEON RECOGNIZES CLUB VOLUNTEERS OF THE YEAR AND ANOTHER LUNCHEON'S FEATURED SPEAKER IS THE USAA CEO, WHO GIVES AN UPDATE ON USAA PROGRESS AND PLANS. THE DIRECTORY AND NEWSLETTERS ARE SENT TO ALL MEMBERS (2200+); ATTENDANCE AT LUNCHEONS VARIES FROM 20+ IN SMALL CHAPTERS TO 800+ IN THE SAN ANTONIO CHAPTER.

THE APPLICANT MUST PLAN TO ATTEND A FOUR-YEAR COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY, AND THE SCOLARSHIP IS AVAILABLE FOR ALL AREAS OF STUDY. AFTER SAAF EVALUATES AND SCORES THE APPLICATIONS, THEY SEND AN ANONYMOUS, RANKED LIST OF SCORES TO THE GOLDEN EAGLE BOARD FOR A FINAL DECISION. BASED ON APPLICANT SCORES AND THE FUNDS AVAILABLE, THE BOARD DETERMINES THE NUMBER OF SCHOLARSHIPS TO BE AWARDED IN A GIVEN YEAR. IN 2014, EIGHT SCHOLARSHIPS WERE AWARDED.
