THE ENLOE HEALTH FOUNDATION IS A NONPROFIT PUBLIC BENEFIT CORPORATION, LOCATED IN CHICO, CALIFORNIA, WHOSE PRIMARY FUNCTION IS TO RAISE FUNDS IN SUPPORT OF ENLOE MEDICAL CENTER - A NONPROFIT PUBLIC BENEFIT CORPORATION WHOSE PRIMARY FUNCTIONS IS THE OPERATION OF AN ACUTE CARE HOSPITAL. SINCE ITS INCEPTION, THE ENLOE HEALTH FOUNDATION (THE FOUNDATION), GUIDED BY A COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER BOARD OF DIRECTORS, HAS PUT THE GENEROSITY OF ITS DONORS TO WORK SUPPORTING ENLOE MEDICAL CENTER. THEIR PHILANTHROPIC SPIRIT HAS LEAD TO ADVANCES IN HEALTH CARE TECHNOLOGY, HEALTH CARE FACILITIES IMPROVEMENTS, PROFESSIONAL AND STAFF TRAINING ALONG WITH COMMUNITY HEALTH CARE PROGRAMS. ALTHOUGH THE FOUNDATION BENEFITS ALL AREAS SERVED BY ENLOE MEDICAL CENTER, THE FOUNDATIONS'S CURRENT FOCUS AS DEFINED BY THE NEW BEGINNING CAMPAIGN IS THE ENLOE CENTURY PROJECT; A PROGRAM DEDICATED TO A PATIENT-CENTERED CARE PHILOSOPHY KNOWN AS PLANETREE; AND THE ENLOE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM. THE ENLOE CENTURY PROJECT CONSIST OF THE MAGNOLIA TOWER - COMPLETED IN NOVEMBER 2012, A PARKING STRUCTURE THAT WAS COMPLETED IN AUGUST 2008, AND THE EXPANSION AND REBUILDING OF THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF A COMMUNITY PARK. THE MAGNOLIA TOWER WILL ADD APPROXIMATELY 191,000 SQUARE FEET OFFERING 140 NEW PATIENT ROOMS. THE EXPANSION WILL PROVIDE FOR EXPANDED SURGICAL CAPACITY, TWO NEW INTENSIVE CARE UNITS, 12 BEDS EACH, FOR CARDIO-VASCULAR AND NEURO-TRAUMA SERVICES, AND THE NETTLETON MOTHER AND BABY CARE CENTER OFFERING PRIVATE ROOMS. THE EXPANSION WITH EXISTING BEDS WILL PROVIDE FOR 233 PRIVATE ROOMS ONCE COMPLETED. ENLOE MEDICAL CENTER IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDING A NURTURING ENVIRONMENT WHERE PATIENTS ARE SURROUNDED BY CARING STAFF AND SUPPORTED BY OPPORTUNITIES AND RESOURCES THAT PROMOTE HEALING OF THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT. ENLOE MEDICAL CENTER'S BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND ADMINISTRATION CHOSE TO PURSUE THE PLANETREE AFFILIATION, FINDING IT AN EXCEPTIONAL APPROACH TO THE DELIVERY OF CARE WITH TECHNOLOGY, MEDICINE AND COMPLEMENTARY HEALING. AS AN AFFILIATED OF THE PLANETREE PROGRAM, ENLOE HAS BEGUN TO IMPLEMENT INITIATIVES THAT ADDRESS SOME OF THE COMPONENTS OF PLANETREE AND IS MAKING STRIDES IN IDENTIFYING, DEVELOPING, AND IMPLEMENTING PATIENT-CENTERED CARE IN A HEALING ENVIRONMENT. ENLOE HEALTH FOUNDATION SUPPORTS THE PLANETREE PROGRAM BY SEEKING CONTRIBUTIONS AND FUNDING PLANETREE CENTERED PROGRAMS AT ENLOE MEDICAL CENTER. PLANETREE CENTERED PROGRAMS SUPPORTED BY THE FOUNDATION INCLUDE CANCER, CARDIO VASCULAR AND DIABETES SERVICES; HOSPICE AND HOME HEALTH SERVICES; AND CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION FOR PHYSICIANS AND STAFF, AND MANY OTHER PATIENT CENTERED SERVICES. THE FOUNDATION IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDING THE RESOURCES TO ENCOURAGE AND DEVELOP THE STAFF OF ENLOE MEDICAL CENTER THROUGH SCHOLARSHIPS WHICH SUPPORT HIGHLY QUALIFIED PEOPLE ENTERING THE MEDICAL FIELD AND TO ENCOURAGE THOSE ALREADY SERVING ENLOE MEDICAL CENTER TO CONTINUE ON THEIR EDUCATIONAL PATH. THE FOUNDATION ALSO PROVIDES FOR CONTINUING CLINICAL EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR VARIOUS ANCILLARY SERVICES OF ENLOE MEDICAL CENTER. THE GOAL IS TO HAVE THE MOST SKILLED, COMPETENT AND ENGAGED STAFF TO SERVE OUR PATIENTS WITH COMPASSIONATE AND QUALITY CARE EVERY DAY. THE FOUNDATION OFFERS 16 SCHOLARSHIPS EACH SPRING ENCOURAGING ALL ENLOE MEDICAL CENTER EMPLOYEES TO FURTHER THEIR TRAINING. THE FOUNDATION SERVES THE COMMUNITY WITH ITS TWO SAMARITAN FUNDS TO PROVIDE BASIC FOOD, SHELTER, CLOTHING, TRANSPORTATION AND OTHER BASIC NEEDS TO PATIENTS AND FAMILIES IN DISTRESS.
