What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? THE ORGANIZATION WAS ORGANIZED IN 1978 FOR THE PURPOSE OF STIMULATING AND MAINTAINING GROWTH IN NORTH CENTRAL NORTH DAKOTA, MOST SPECIFICALLY WITHIN THE TRADE AREA OF THE CITIES LOCATED IN TOWNER COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA, WHICH CURRENTLY HAS A POPULATION OF LESS THAN 2,500 PEOPLE.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 ONE OF THE CHALLENGES IN PROMOTING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IS THE AVAILABILITY OF ADEQUATE HOUSING IN THE AREA, NOT ONLY IN THE ATTRACTION OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO MOVE INTO THE AREA TO FILL NEW JOBS, BUT ALSO IN THE RETENTION OF CURRENT RESIDENTS WHOSE HOUSING NEEDS CHANGE OVER TIME.THE ORGANIZATION PARTICIPATED WITH OTHER SIMILAR ORGANIZATIONS IN THE REGION IN COMMISSIONING A JOINT COMPREHENSIVE STUDY OF HOUSING IN THE REGION. THE MAIN FOCUS OF THE STUDY IS DEALING WITH THE CHANGES IN DEMAND FOR AND SUPPLY OF VARIOUS TYPES OF HOUSING AS THE DEMOGRAPHICS OF THE POPULATION OF THE REGION HAVE CHANGED IN RECENT DECADES AS TO AGE, FAMILY TYPE AND FAMILY SIZE.

THE BALANCE OF THESE LOANS ON DECEMBER 31, 2014, WAS $125,578.5) MAKING GRANTS TO BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY AND OTHER QUALIFYING ORGANIZATIONS TO ASSIST IN THE EXPANSION OF BUSINESSES OR TO REDUCE THE IMPACT OF ECONOMIC HARDSHIPS CREATED BY A SEVERE SLOWDOWN OF THE ECONOMY IN THE RURAL SECTOR DUE TO A LOSS OF POPULATION IN RECENT YEARS, AND ALSO THE IMPACT OF THE INCREASED AVAILABILTY OF HIGHER-PAYING JOBS IN THE OIL FIELDS OF WESTERN NORTH DAKOTA. IN 2014, FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED TO ASSIST IN THE TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP IN A LOCAL MORTUARY FROM A NON-AREA RESIDENT TO A CURRENT EMPLOYEE WHO IS A LOCAL RESIDENT.6) PROVIDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO ORGANIZATIONS WHICH PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL, CULTURAL OR RECREATIONAL FACILITIES AND ACTIVITIES IN MAINTAINING AND UPGRADING THEIR FACILITIES OR IN MAINTAINING THE LEVEL OF SERVICES WHICH THEY MAKE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC.
