| Form 990, Part VI, Line 12c: Explanation of Monitoring and Enforcement of Conflicts | The Association uses two key processes to enforce the conflict of interest policy. The policy is distributed to all Board members at the February Board meeting and each member's signature is requested on the form. The signed forms are filed at the office. At the same meeting, the Association's attorney is present to discuss the policy and answer questions. When issues arise throughout the year of which a conflict of interest may occur, Board members are reminded of the policy and their obligation to disclose any conflicts of interest and to potentially recuse themselves from participating in the discussion on the item. In addition, each year the executive officer reviews the conflict of interest policy with new board members. |
