| Form 990, Part III, Line 4a | The Black Business Association of Memphis BBA continues to be a long-stnading resource for Advocacy, Access to Capital for businesses, Entrepreneur Development, Contracting, Networking and Business Development among Women and Minority Business owners. BBA owns the Unique distinction of being the organization, which assist such businesses from ideation to initial public offering IPO. Our focus for 2015 has been to equip, empower, enable, encourage and inspire existing and prospective entrepreneurs to achieve their goals and objectives. We help business owners to recruit and retain customers. In fiscal 2015 July 1, 2014-June 30, 2015 we met with 781 business persons in our office and saw ountless others 586 at their places of business. We achieved our Entrepreneurial Education Outreach goals by hosting 21, Lunch Learn Seminars which delivered such topics as, How to Navigate the SBA Process, Everything You Need to Know about The Affordable Care Act, and Keeping Your Business in Good Standing with The Better Business Bureau. These Lunch Learn programs were very well received and very well attended. We developed new and successful strategic partnerships with other agencies such as Seedco, The SBA, The United States Black Chamber of Commerce and we held our first ever, SOLUTION SERIES in partnership with the U.S. Black Chamber of Commerce. It was an enormous success as we developed solutions to common business problems encountered by Minority Businesspersons across the nation. |
