Briefly describe the organization’s mission: The Electronic Components Association (ECA) represents the electronics industry sector comprised of designers, manufacturers and suppliers of passive and active electronic components, component arrays and assemblies, and commercial and industrial electronic equipment and supplies. ECA provides companies with a dynamic link into a network of programs and activities offering business and technical information; market research, trends and analysis; access to industry and government leaders; technical and educational training; and more. In addition, ECA provides unique opportunities to cooperate and coordinate with affiliated sectors and associations to support issues and interests that are common to all manufacturers in the electronic industries.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 6	Membership is open to any corporation which manufactures products that fall within the scope of the Association. Applications for membership are reviewed by the Membership and Scope Committee of the Board, and are approved by majority vote of the full Board of Directors. ECA has three classes of membership - regular manufacturer membership, associate membership, and affiliate membership.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7a	Senior executives of regular member organizations who are active participants in the affairs of the Association are eligible to serve on the ECA Board of Directors. Election of directors takes place at the annual General Membership meeting.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11	ECA's Form 990 is prepared by an accounting firm using information furnished by ECA. The completed returns are reviewed by ECA's management to verify the accuracy of the information input by the accounting firm. Once this is satisfactorily completed, the forms are submitted to the IRS.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c	All officers, directors, trustees and key employees are asked to review the conflict of interest policy annually.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 15	The Compensation Committee is a standing committee of the ECA Board of Directors whose duties are to review the staff responsibilities and the salary structure for the Association. The Committee also reviews the performance of senior staff, including the president. Comparability data for similar positions in the industry are periodically reviewed.
Form 990, Part VI, Section C, line 19	ECA's bylaws are available to the general public on its website (www.ecaus.org). ECA's conflict of interest policy is contained within the Employee Handbook and could be made available upon request. ECA's compiled financial statements could be made available upon request.
