| Form 990, Header, Line B | Form 990, Header Line B: - In 2013 an agreement to create an insurance organization jointly with another church denomination was reached. This new organization, The Reformed Benefits Association (or RBA) was incorporated as a 501(c)3 organization. RBA was created to replace the Christian Reformed Church in North America Vountary Participant Benefit Trust (or CGI). The CGI plan provided insurance benefits through December 31, 2013, and on January 1, 2014 the RBA began operations. All financial obligations of the CGI medical and life insurance plans were resolved prior to the end of 2014. Ongoing banking, investment management, and audit review costs, incurred in 2015 were paid. No 2015 CRCNA operating expenses were allocated to the CGI plan. In order to comply with the CGI plan documents that state that CGI plan funds will be used for the exclusive benefit of the plan participants, once all CGI obligations had been resolved the remaining plan funds were used to pay ongoing insurance premiums of the CRCNA and CRCNA affiliated agency employees to the RBA. |
