| Form 990, Part III, Line 1 | Background and Mission: Mary's Woods is a 501(c)(3) continuing care retirement community (CCRC). It was established in 1997 and opened in 2001 as a ministry of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. Mary's Woods mission is an extension of the heritage of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, that is to provide a continuum of housing, health and educational services to ensure the full development of every individual at each stage of life. It currently has a resident population of approximately 438 individuals. Age eligibility for entry is limited to those 62 years of age and older. The vast majority of Mary's Woods residents live independently in the 283 apartments and villas. As part of its continuing care commitment, Mary's Woods also supports a health care center which houses approximately 101 residents in assisted living, skilled nursing, residential care and memory care programs. Services: Mary's Woods provides an array of program services to its resident population. These services include: independent and supported housing; health care support through the Marie Rose health care center, wellness programming, educational, social and cultural activities, and pastoral care. Additionally, Mary's Woods offers services and activities to non-residents living in the surrounding community including but not limited to: home care services that support an individual's independence, musical concerts, talks, art displays, and transportation via a shuttle service supported through a grant. Mary's Woods has a full array of well developed support services which includes: leadership team consisting of CEO, COO/CFO, Mission Director, marketing and sales, finance, environmental services, dining services, nursing and home care services, resident relations/services and transportation, and human resources. Beginning in fiscal year 2012 - 2013, Mary's Woods began expanding its fundraising services to continue to carry out the organization's mission. |
