A list of the types of activities that the Coalition engaged in during 2015 to further its exempt purposes is provided below:1) Lobbying: During 2015 Childrens MAGIC U.S. began pre-work for lobbying efforts in Colorado, Kentucky and Florida for the 2016 legislative season. The purpose of these state legislature lobbying efforts was to ultimately secure legislation mandating the coverage of medical foods and formulas for child patients with various allergies, digestive disorders, diseases or inborn errors of metabolism who need medical nutrition to survive and thrive and to thereby increase the availability of medical foods and/or medical formula for children who rely on them. 2) Marketing and Education: Childrens MAGIC U.S. representatives met and communicated with medical food manufactures Nestle and Nutricia North America to increase understanding of the necessity of medical food/formula for children. Childrens MACIG U.S. staff managed and maintained a comprehensive website providing information about the impact that a lack of accessibility to medical nutrition has on children who are dependent upon it. 3) Advocacy and Education: In 2015 Childrens MAGIC U.S. promoted grass roots efforts in support of coverage equality by utilizing our partners networks of parents who could communicate with other affected parents in their state and their elected officials regarding their childs need for medical food/formula and testified before legislative bodies regarding this need. MAGIC staff also developed and formed networks with other organizations ( APFED and iFPIES Association) related to the grass roots advocacy and education.

Footnote for uncertain tax position under FIN 48 (Part X) The Organization follows the Financial Accounting Standards Board Accounting Standards Codification, which provides guidance on accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in its financial statements, if any. As of December 31, 2015, the organization had no unrecognized tax liabilities related to uncertain tax positions in its information return that would qualify for either recognition or disclosure in its financial statements.The Organizations policy would be to recognize interest and penalties on tax positions related to its unrecognized tax liabilities in income tax expense in the financial statements. Through December 31, 2015, there have been no matters that would have resulted in an accrual for interest and/or penalties.
