What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? ATHLETIC AND SPORTS PROGRAMS: SUCCESSFULLY PROVIDE A FORUM FOR TRIATHLETES TO TRAIN, COMPETE, MEET AND SOCIALIZE.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 The Triathlon Club of San Diego is one of the oldest and largest triathlon clubs in the country with members residing primarily in San Diego and Southern Orange County. The Club supports all levels of triathletes, from the novice to the professional, and offers daily workouts, organized races, coached clinics and training, monthly meetings, social activities and more.The Triathlon Club of San Diego holds monthly meetings at various locationsin San Diego and is attended by members and guest speakers who are renowned athletes and coaches. TCSD organized monthly club races, including the Coronado Triathlon, Fiesta Island Duathlon, and the Pine Valley Duathlon, and presented the Aquathlon race series consisting of ocean swim and beach run races. Other club race events include the Penasquitos Ride & Tie, the Polar Bear Triathlon, the Otay Lakes Duathlon and multiple short distance beginner friendly races. TCSD provided on-line race results for all club races.TCSD offered Ironman training and coaching programs, beginner training and coaching programs, bike maintenance courses, swim programs, bike coaching, run coaching, surf entry clinics, and youth triathlon workouts. TCSD also offered access to professional trainers and multi-sport clinics for athletes of all levels.TCSD social activities included the La Jolla Shores aquathlon beach parties, year-end awards presentation, Ironman viewing party, La Jolla Cove swim potlucks, Tour de France viewing party, moonlight hikes, moonlight ocean swims, movies, annual pool party and bbq, volunteer and community efforts.TCSD negotiated discounts from a growing list of sponsors.TCSD also offered an in-depth monthly newsletter which announced the workout calendar, race results, member profiles, advertisements, and general announcements, and has an active Facebook page with 4,561 participants. TCSD also offered uniforms and apparel, club e-mail groups, club web page, classified ads, bike and run routes, triathlon links, training tips, and race expos.
