| THE ORGANIZATION MAINTAINS A CONTINUOUS AND BONA FIDE PROGRAM FOR SOLICITATION OF FUNDS FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC.IT MAINTAINS THE "DEVELOPMENT AND PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT" FOR THIS PURPOSE.THE PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS PROVIDE PLENTY OF FACTS REGARDING THE PROGRAMS AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC AS WELL AS CHILDREN WHO ARE HOUSED IN THE FACILITIES OF THE ORGANIZATION. THE GOVERNING BODY WITH (38) THIRTY-EIGHT DIRECTORS FROM ACROSS THE STATE OF LOUISIANA REPRESENTS THE INTEREST OF THE PUBLIC IN ALL AREAS OF THE STATE. THE COMMITTEE PARTICIPATION IS EXTENSIVE AND WELL REPRESENTED IN THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY FROM ACROSS THE STATE ALSO. THERE ARE BUSINESS OWNERS, BANKERS, INVESTMENT ADVISORS, CLERGY, CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS, LAWYERS, AND RETIRED OFFICERS OF THE ORGANIZATION SERVING AS DIRECTORS AND COMMITTEE MEMBERS. THE ORGANIZATION DOES PROVIDES FACILITIES AND SERVICES DIRECTLY FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC ON A CONTINUING BASIS.THE ORGANIZATION INVESTMENT INCOME DURING THE LAST THREE YEARS HAVE INCREASED TREMENDOUSLY DUE TO ROYALTIES FROM OIL AND GAS. PROPERTY THAT WAS DONATED TO THE ORGANIZATION MANY YEARS AGO HAS BEEN EXPLORED AND DEVELOPED WITH MANY PRODUCING OIL AND GAS WELLS. THE CONTRIBUTIONS HAVE AVERAGED $2,499,181 A YEAR OVER THE LAST FIVE (5) YEARS, HOWEVER THE OIL AND GAS REVENUE HAS CAUSED AN INCREASE IN INVESTMENT INCOME OVER THE LAST FIVE YEARS FROM $3,239,713 PER YEAR IN 2011 TO $6,464,865 INVESTMENT INCOME DURING 2015. IN 2011 THE ORGANIZATION PUBLIC SUPPORT WAS 33.57%. IN 2012 THE ORGANIZATION PUBLIC SUPPORT WAS 51.44%. HOWEVER, DURING 2013 THROUGH 2015 THE ROYALTIES FROM OIL AND GAS HAVE INFLATED THE INCOME SUBSTANTUALLY. ON TUESDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2015, THE ORGANIZATION RECEIVED A CHILD PLACING LICENSE (#16305) FROM LOUISIANA'S DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILY SERVICES' BUREAU OF LICENSING. IMMEDIATELY, THE NEW METHODIST FOSTER CARE STAFF CRANKED UP ALL THE ACTIVITIES REQUIRED TO BUILD A THERAPEUTIC FOSTER CARE PROGRAM.THERAPEUTIC FOSTER CARE GIVES A CHILD A SUPPORTIVE FAMILY SETTING UNTIL THE NATURAL FAMILY CAN BE REUNITED OR A PERMANENT PLACEMENT CAN BE ARRANGED FOR THE CHILD. NOVEMBER 25, 2015, THE ORGANIZATION CREATED THE METHODIST FOSTER CARE PROGRAM AND ENTERED INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LOUISIANA DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILY SERVICES TO PROVIDE THERAPEUTIC FOSTER CARE TO CHILDREN IN THE CUSTODY OF THAT DEPARTMENT. THE ORGANIZATION RECEIVED THE CHILD PLACING LICENSE ON DECEMBER 1, 2015. BY DECEMBER 31, 2015, THE ORGANIZATION HAD SUCCESSFULLY CREATED METHODIST FOSTER CARE BY INTERVIEWING AND HIRING STAFF, APPLYING FOR A CHILD PLACING LICENSE, WRITING POLICY AND PROCEDURE MANUALS, SUBMITTED A PROPOSAL AND CONTRACTED WITH DCFS FOR 100 TFC BEDS. AT THE END OF 2015 THERE WERE CERTIFIED TFC HOMES FOR 53 CHILDREN AND WERE MAKING PROGRESS TOWARD THE CONTRACTED 100 BEDS. |
