Briefly describe the organization’s mission: OUR MISSION IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH SEVERAL ENERGY PROJECT INITIATIVES, INCLUDING: REGIONAL ENERGY PLANNING, FEASIBILITY STUDIES, AND COMMUNITY PLANNING, ALL COMPLETED ALONGSIDE NON-PROFIT REGIONAL ENTITIES IN THE YUKON-KUSKOKWIM DELTA REGION OF ALASKA. OUR WORK IS INTENDED TO HELP VILLAGES, TRIBES, AND ULTRA REMOTE COMMUNITIES IN WESTERN ALASKA BECOME SUSTAINABLE AND SELF-SUFFICIENT THROUGH THE REALIZATION OF DECREASED ENERGY COSTS.

FORM 990, PART VI, LINE 7A: Election of Members and Their Rights - Nominations for the board of directors are made by the nominating committee appointed by the board of directors of five individuals, two of the nominees shall be current board members. The three remaining committee members must be members or representatives of members of the organization. The committee will seek qualified candidates and prepare a list of candidates and post them at the principal office of Nuvista at least 70 days before the election. A written conflict of interest policy applies to all eligible members to serve as directors of the organization. Members of the organization may also nominate an individual by 25 members that submit a nomination to the nominations committee at least 60 days prior to the election. Elections shall be made by secret ballot by the members present at the annual meeting of the organization.
