Part X : FIN48 Footnote The preparation of financial statements in conformity with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America requires the Organization to report information regarding its exposure to various tax positions taken by the Organization. The Organization has determined whether any tax positions have met the recognition threshold and has measured the Organizations exposure to those tax positions. Management believes that the Organization has adequately addressed all relevant tax positions and that there are no unrecorded tax liabilities. Federal and state tax authorities generally have the right to examine and audit the previous three years of tax returns filed. Any interest or penalties assessed to the Organization would be recorded in operating expenses. No interest or penalties from Federal or state tax authorities were recorded in the accompanying financial statements.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 6: Explanation of Classes of Members or Shareholder The Organization has over 5,000 members who are eligible to elect the governing body and make changes to the Organization's by-laws.
Form 990, Part VI, Line 11b: Form 990 Review Process The Akron Cleveland Association of Realtors receives a copy of Form 990 to review before the form is filed. Form 990 is reviewed by the CEO and the governing body for completeness and accuracy. Any necessary changes are then made by the accounting firm.
Form 990, Part VI, Line 12c: Explanation of Monitoring and Enforcement of Conflicts Every year the board members are required to read and sign the conflict of interest policy. If any conflicts arise during the year, the board members are required to disclose the conflict and refrain from voting in the matter.
Form 990, Part VI, Line 15a: Compensation Review & Approval Process - CEO, Top Management Annually, in October, a personnel committee of four members reviews and votes on the compensation and raise for the CEO. The compensation is based on the employment contract between the Organization and the CEO.
Form 990, Part VI, Line 19: Other Organization Documents Publicly Available The Organization makes its governing documents, conflict of interest policy and financial statements available to the public upon request. Anyone who wishes to review these documents must first make a request and then visit the Organization's office during normal business hours.
