IT IS GENDER INCLUSIVE AND ADMINISTERED TO K-6TH GRADE. STUDENTS MEET AFTER SCHOOL WEEKLY FOR FORTY MINUTES TO AN HOUR. EACH SITE IS PROVIDED WITH A 'COACH BOX' THAT INCLUDES A MANUAL AND ANY EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS USED FOR LESSONS. EACH STUDENT RECEIVES A T-SHIRT, WATER BOTTLE, BACKPACK TAG, AND STUDENT HANDBOOK. A SNACK IS PROVIDED AT EACH PRACTICE. THE OVERALL OBJECTIVES OF JUNIOR LEAGUE ADMINISTRATION OF THE PROGRAM ARE TO PROMOTE HEALTHY SELF-ESTEEM THROUGH PHYSICAL FITNESS BY EDUCATING YOUNG CHILDREN ON ITS IMPORTANCE (PER JUNIOR LEAGUE OF SAGINAW VALLEY'S ISSUE BASED COMMUNITY IMPACT MODEL), TO INCREASE HOUSEHOLD RECOGNITION OF THE PRESENCE OF THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF SAGINAW VALLEY IN THE GREAT LAKES BAY REGION, AND ESTABLISH JUNIOR LEAGUE OF SAGINAW VALLEY AS A CATEGORY LEADER IN THE NOT-FOR-PROFIT MARKET IN THE AREA. |
