the accomplishment of the foundation’s exempt purposes (other than by providing funds for such purposes). (See
    instructions.)
11 Although the Foundation supports projects and programs related to
11 a number of issues, it is concentrating a majority of its efforts
11 to conserve and protect the Tongass National Forest in Southeast
11 Alaska. The Tongass' viability as a long term source of renewable
11 natural resources for the benefit of mankind is threatened by short
11 term timber and mining practices. The result of the foregoing is
11 that the McIntosh Foundation has decided to concentrate on Southeast
11 Alaska and Tongass issues. It has concluded that both it's grant
11 recipients and itself would be best served by following a policy
11 of reviewing proposals and grant requests by invitation only.
