	Natural Seal Certification: To protect and equip consumers to maximize their well being, NPA developed the Natural Standard and Certification for Home Care Products. Launched in February 2010, the NPA Natural Standard is a set of guidelines that dictate whether a product can be deemed truly "natural." The standard encompasses home care products such as household cleaners, laundry detergents, and concentrated and ready to use hard-surface cleaners. Under the program, products certified under the NPA Natural Home Care Standard can bear the NPA Natural Seal. See Schedule O for continuation

	GMP Certification: NPA has always taken a leadership role in promoting quality standards and has developed proactive certification programs for that purpose. NPA was the first organization to offer a third-party GMP certification program for the manufacturing of dietary supplements and dietary ingredients. NPA established its GMP standards for dietary supplements in 1999 and updated the standard in 2000. At the time of publication, these GMP standards represented the industry's best practices and served as the basis of the NPA GMP Certification Program.See Schedule O for continuation

	TruLabel: The TruLabel Program is a dietary supplement label registration and random-testing program adopted by NPA in 1990 and made a requirement for supplier membership in 1995. This internal oversight program was designed to create a high level of confidence with retailers and consumers that products sold in the marketplace are accurately labeled; establish an ongoing self-regulatory process within the industry; demonstrate industry maturity to legislators; and provide a comprehensive industry product database. Form 990, Part I, Line 1, Description of Organization Mission:	As the leading voice of the natural products industry, the Natural Products Association's mission is to advocate for the rights of consumers to have access to products that will maintain and improve their health, and for the rights of retailers and suppliers to sell these products. The Natural Products Association strives to achieve a broader, more accessible marketplace for natural products that will improve the quality of life for consumers worldwide.
Form 990, Part III, Line 4a, Natural Seal Certification: (continued)	Until the NPA standard, there was no definition of the term "natural" used by the home care industry. With the launch of the NPA Natural Standard and Certification for Home Care Products, consumers can look for the easily identifiable seal to discern which home care products are truly natural.
Form 990, Part III, Line 4b, GMP Certification: (continued)	In June 2007, the FDA published the final GMP regulation specific to dietary supplements (21 CFR 111). In order to keep the NPA GMP Certification Program relevant and reflect the highest level of industry good manufacturing practices, the NPA GMP Standard has been revised to include all of the FDA GMP requirements of 21 CFR Part 111 and retains certain requirements from the 2000 version of the NPA GMP Standard that exceed requirements of the FDA GMPs, or reflect best industry practices, and/or are necessary for the evaluation of compliance to the NPA GMP standard. NPA GMP Certification is awarded to companies that meet a high level of compliance to the NPA GMP Standard as verified through comprehensive third-party inspections of facilities and GMP-related documentation.
Form 990, Part III, Line 4c, TruLabel: (continued)	The TruLabel program is a valuable resource to NPA as we use information from the database to defend the industry when elected officials and regulatory agencies have questions and/or make incorrect statements about products. The random testing has been beneficial to the industry also as the test results have been used to backup concerns about products or ingredients in the marketplace.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 6	Membership in the Association is open to persons of entities involves in, or associated with, the nutritional food, dietary supplements, and related products and services industry. The Association shall have two classes of membership: voting members and non-voting members.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7a	Voting membership in the Association shall be open to persons or entities engaged in the manufacturing, distributing, and marketing of nutritional products and services. The Association shall have two categories of voting members: retailers and suppliers.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7b	The Board of Directors will consist of twenty voting members. Ten of the voting directors shall be retailers, and ten shall be suppliers. The retailer council of the board shall be elected from among the retailer membership. The supplier council of the board shall be elected from among the supplier membership.
