    Distribution to a donor advised fund. Form 990-PF, Part VII-A, Line 12 The Synopsys Foundation ("the Foundation") made distributions to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, which is a donor-advised fund. The Foundation has advisory privileges over the donor-advised fund and the distributions to the donor-advised fund are treated as qualifying distributions. The Foundation will ensure that donations from the donor-advised funds are made to qualified public charitable, educational, artisitic and scientific organizations, in compliance with IRC Section 170 (C)(2)(B) and in compliance with all other federal and state tax laws and will not cause the foundation to jeopardize its tax-exempt status. The organizations that receive the funds will be vetted by the Foundation and recommended to the donor-advised fund to recieve the contribution. Since inception, the donor-advised fund has not made donations to organizations that were not recommended by the Foundation.
