| FORM 990 - ORGANIZATION'S MISSION | THE A21 CAMPAIGN IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION ENGAGED IN THE ABOLISHMENT OF HUMAN INJUSTICE, PARTICULARLY IN REGARDS TO HUMAN TRAFFICKING. THE A21 CAMPAIGN STANDS FOR "ABOLISHING INJUSTICE IN THE 21ST CENTURY- AND WAS OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED IN MARCH 2008. WE HAVE OFFICES IN GREECE, UKRAINE, BULGARIA, NORWAY, THE UNITED KINGDOM, AUSTRALIA, USA (WEST COAST AND EAST COAST), SOUTH AFRICA AND THAILAND. ORGANIZATIONALLY WE AIM TO FOCUS ON THE FOLLOWING INITIATIVES: PREVENTION (AWARENESS & EDUCATION), PROTECTION, PROSECUTION, AND PARTNERSHIP. WE AIM TO RAISE AWARENESS THROUGH OUR PREVENTION INITIATIVES IN ORDER TO SAVE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE FROM BECOMING VICTIMS BY INFORMING THE NEXT GENERATION. WE AIM TO PROTECT THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN TRAFFICKED THROUGH THE PROVISION OF CRISIS SHELTERS AND TRANSITION HOMES. WE WANT TO GIVE THEM ACCESS TO EDUCATIONAL AND VOCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES TO IMPROVE THEIR ABILITY TO WORK IN MORE MEANINGFUL AND SAFE EMPLOYMENT. WE AIM TO PROSECUTE THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO TRAFFIC PEOPLE INTO SLAVERY AND WE ALSO AIM TO PROMOTE CHANGES IN LEGISLATION TO ENSURE THAT TRAFFICKERS ARE BROUGHT TO JUSTICE ALL OF THIS IS DONE THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS POLICE, OTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES (LEAS), IMMIGRATION, BORDER CONTROLS, EMBASSIES/CONSULATES AND OTHER NON- GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATIONS. OUR AIM IS TO RESCUE, RESTORE AND REBUILD THE LIVES OF THOSE AFFECTED BY INJUSTICE IN THE 21ST CENTURY. 2015 ACHIEVEMENTS PREVENTION & AWARENESS: NEW OFFICE - NETHERLANDS IN 2015 WE OPENED OUR 11TH OFFICE, LOCATED IN AMSTERDAM. THE NETHERLANDS IS A SOURCE, TRANSIT AND DESTINATION COUNTRY FOR HUMAN TRAFFICKING. THIRTY PERCENT OF TRAFFICKING INVOLVES FEMALES, AND 70 PERCENT ARE FROM EASTERN EUROPEAN COUNTRIES. OUR OFFICE IN AMSTERDAM IS ALREADY OFF TO A STRONG START WITH FANTASTIC SUPPORT FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY. WE ARE EXCITED FOR ALL OF THE POSSIBILITIES AHEAD TO MOBILIZE DUTCH PEOPLE TO BECOME PART OF THE SOLUTION TO HUMAN TRAFFICKING. GLOBAL WALK FOR FREEDOM ON OCTOBER 17, PEOPLE ACROSS THE GLOBE RALLIED TOGETHER, ALONG WITH THE A21 TEAM, TO RAISE AWARENESS IN THE 2015 WALKFORFREEDOM. WE HAD 22 COUNTRIES ACROSS THE GLOBE PARTICIPATE IN THE WALK, REACHING MORE THAN 45 MILLION PEOPLE WORLDWIDE THROUGH LIVE EVENTS, MEDIA AND SOCIAL MEDIA. NATIONAL HOTLINES BULGARIA: IN 2015, WE USED THE EVENT OF THE WALK FOR FREEDOM TO LAUNCH OUR BRAND NEW NATIONAL HOTLINE IN BULGARIA. THE 0800 20 100 HOTLINE IS AVAILABLE NATIONWIDE, AND WE RECEIVED MORE THAN 60 CALLS IN THE FIRST WEEK ALONE. CALLS FROM BULGARIA AND THE EUROPEAN UNION TO THE HOTLINE ARE TAKEN 24/7 AND FREE FOR THE CALLER. GREECE: IN 2015, OUR 1109 HOTLINE IN GREECE CONTINUED TO SEE A STEADY STREAM OF CALLS. THE RESULT HAS SEEN 70% OF ALL RESCUES TO A21 CARE COMING THROUGH OUR HOTLINE. GATWICK AIRPORT (UK) - OFFICER TRAINING THIS YEAR WE HAVE CONTINUED OUR PREVENTION AND AWARENESS WORK AT GATWICK AIRPORT, UK. WE HAVE CONTINUED TO TRAIN AVIATION SECURITY OFFICERS, GATWICK AIRPORT STAFF AND BORDERFORCE OFFICIALS AND ALSO TRAINED SURROUNDING GATWICK HOTELS. WE HAVE RAISED AWARENESS WITH EASY JET AND MONARCH AIRLINES CREW STAFF AND HELD GATWICK AWARENESS DAYS IN THE TERMINALS OF THE AIRPORT WHERE 10,000 PASSENGERS PASS THROUGH EACH DAY. WE PRODUCED AND DISTRIBUTED TO OVER 5,000 STAFF MEMBERS A HUMAN TRAFFICKING INFORMATION LEAFLET FOR GATWICK AIRPORT. CAPETOWN AIRPORT - COMAIR TRAINING A21 WAS INVITED TO TRAIN COMAIR STAFF ON IDENTIFYING TRAFFICKING IN THE AIRPORTS. MANY OF THE STAFF MEMBERS COULD RECALL INCIDENTS WHICH THEY COULD IDENTIFY AS POTENTIAL TRAFFICKING SITUATIONS. ONE OF THE STAFF MEMBERS WAS IN TEARS AND SAID THAT HER JOB HAS A GREATER PURPOSE NOW THAN JUST SELLING TICKETS. FRONTLINE PROFESSIONALS TRAINING IN GREECE THIS YEAR WE EXPANDED OUR FRONTLINE PROFESSIONALS TRAINING FROM POLICE OFFICERS AND THE COAST GUARD TO ALSO INCLUDE MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS, HOTEL STAFF, TEACHERS, STUDENTS AND CHURCHES. THROUGH THIS TRAINING IN 2015, WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO REACH 548 POLICE, COAST GUARD, DOCTORS, FIRST RESPONDERS AND HOTEL STAFF, 784 STUDENTS AND 566 CHURCH LEADERS AND ATTENDEES. NEW PSA ON NATIONAL GREEK TV THANKS TO THE GENEROSITY OF JOIN THE LIGHTS, WE WERE ABLE TO MAKE ANOTHER PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN GREECE. THIS NEW PSA PLAYED ON NATIONAL GREEK TELEVISION DURING THE MONTH OF OCTOBER, AND WE SAW AN INCREDIBLE INCREASE IN CALLS TO OUR HOTLINE FROM NEIGHBORS, AND EVEN CLIENTS WHO HAVE BEEN VISITING BROTHELS. OVERALL WE SAW 235% INCREASE IN TIPS ALL ABOUT SEX TRAFFICKING VICTIMS, AND 230% INCREASE IN POLICE REPORTS DURING THE NEW PSA AIRING. SYRIAN REFUGEE CRISIS THE REFUGEE CRISIS IN SYRIA AND SURROUNDING COUNTRIES HAS CAPTURED THE ATTENTION OF THE WORLD. RECOGNIZING THAT REFUGEES ARE SOME OF THE MOST AT- RISK TO FALL VICTIM TO HUMAN TRAFFICKING, A21 BEGAN SEEKING WAYS TO HELP WITH THE CRISIS DURING MID-2015. A21 IDENTIFIED THE GREATEST NEEDS AND DELIVERED MORE THAN 400 TONS OF GRAVEL TO THE SITE, DUG A WATERLINE AND CREATED A UNIQUE WATER STATION MADE OUT OF A SHIPPING CONTAINER. MEETING THESE PRACTICAL NEEDS OPENED THE DOORS FOR US TO ALERT THESE REFUGEES OF THE DANGERS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING. WE HAVE SINCE MODIFIED OUR SHIPPING CONTAINER STRATEGY TO INCLUDE SHOWER FACILITIES WITH SOLAR POWER HEATING; EACH UNIT CONTAINING SEVEN SHOWERS AND 10 SINKS - AN INNOVATIVE DESIGN THAT U.N.H.C.R. OFFICIALS HAVE PRAISED FOR ITS UNIQUE, EFFICIENT AND MOBILE FUNCTIONALITY. EACH SHOWER CABIN CONTAINS A POSTER WITH WARNINGS ABOUT HUMAN TRAFFICKING, AS WELL AS EMERGENCY NUMBERS THAT WORK THROUGHOUT EUROPE. THIS INFORMATION IS ALSO ON THE MIRRORS ABOVE THE SINKS, ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE CONTAINER, AS WELL AS ON FLIERS THAT GET DISTRIBUTED AT EACH CAMP'S INFORMATION STATION. TO DATE, WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PRODUCE 14 CONTAINERS DISTRIBUTED ACROSS SIX LOCATIONS IN GREECE. A21 TEAM HAS BEEN ASSISTING AT THE NORTHERN BORDER IN GREECE EVERY WEEK, HELPING TO PROVIDE BOTH AWARENESS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND GENERAL AID. MORE THAN A QUARTER MILLION REFUGEES HAVE COME INTO CONTACT WITH OUR WORK. STUDENT CURRICULUM THIS YEAR WE HAVE EXPANDED OUR EDUCATION RESOURCES TO INCLUDE A NON-MEDIA VERSION OF THE PREVENTION AND AWARENESS PROGRAM THAT CAN BE TRANSLATED AND USED IN CLASSROOM AND ASSEMBLY PRESENTATIONS. WE HAVE ALSO CONTEXTUALIZED OUR EDUCATION CURRICULUM TO AUSTRALIAN EDUCATION STANDARDS, AS WELL AS TRANSLATED THE MATERIALS TO SPANISH. IN MEXICO, WE HAVE PARTNERED WITH AN ORGANIZATION TO TRAIN OVER 100 FACILITATORS WHO HAVE REACHED OVER 2,000 STUDENTS IN TWO PILOT PROGRAMS. IN THE USA, WE HAVE CONTINUED TO SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT EDUCATION THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA, EDUCATION CONFERENCES, AND HAVE WORKED WITH BAYLOR UNIVERSITY TO CONDUCT AN ACADEMIC RESEARCH STUDY WITH FIVE SCHOOLS IN WACO, TX. IN 2015, OUR ESTIMATED REACH OF THE A21 CURRICULUM IS 100,918 STUDENTS, AND THE ESTIMATED REACH OF THE PREVENTION AND AWARENESS PROGRAM IS 106,264 STUDENTS. AWARENESS BOOK RELEASED IN NORWAY THIS YEAR WE WERE ABLE TO PARTNER WITH INFLUENTIAL INDIVIDUALS TO RELEASE A PREVENTION AND AWARENESS BOOK IN NORWAY. WRITTEN IN NORWEGIAN, IT INCLUDES CONTRIBUTIONS FROM OUR FOUNDER, CHRISTINE CAINE, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, PHILIP HYLDGAARD, AND NORWEGIAN DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, HANNE-KRISTEN MYTHE. MEDIA BREAKTHROUGH IN BULGARIA MEDIA COVERAGE AND REACH IN BULGARIA THIS YEAR WENT TO ANOTHER LEVEL AS OUR TEAM HAS BEEN FOCUSING ON DEVELOPING RELATIONSHIPS AND BUILDING OUT STRONG AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS. IN 2015, WE SAW OUR MEDIA STRATEGY SURROUNDING THE WALK FOR FREEDOM AND NEW HOTLINE LAUNCH COVERED BY EVERY NATIONAL TV STATION ACROSS BULGARIA. WE EVEN RECEIVED PRIME TIME NEWS ON EIGHT TELEVISION STATIONS IN TOTAL, REACHING AN AUDIENCE OF OVER FOUR MILLION (TV ONLY).
