Explanation:

The accountant we had been using in the past decades was retired last year. The new account assumed his business delayed our filing and caused a late penalty from IRS on us last year. This year, I was trying to save the money for my organization by filing the return by myself. Since this is my first time to file 990 and also the first time to use a software other than Turbo Tax that I have used for my personal income tax return for years. After I authenticated my electronic signature, I thought the efiling is done as Turbo Tax's procedure. Also, our organization's return has always been filed by the same accounting firm in the pasts with the exempt tax status 501 (c) (4). I filed it with the same code this year. However, it's been rejected by the IRS due to it mismatched with the code in the IRS' record, which is 501 (c) (6). I was wondering why your system can only catch a rookie's error, but not a veteran's mistake. Could I request for a waiver of the late penalty based on the reasons described above? Your consideration is very much appreciated.
