However, income from activities not directly related to the DDI's tax-exempt purpose is subject to taxation as unrelated business income. DDI incurred no unrelated business income tax during 2015. DDI follows the Accounting for Uncertainty in Income Taxes accounting standard which requires them to determine whether a tax position (and the related tax benefit) is more likely than not to be sustained upon examination by the applicable taxing authority, based solely on the technical merits of the position. DDI believes it has appropriate support for any tax positions taken, and as such, does not have any uncertain tax positions that are significant to the financial statements. If incurred, interest and penalties associated with uncertain tax positions would be recorded in the period assessed.
