1	Briefly describe the organization’s mission or most significant activities: The Oldtown Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. has been specifically organized to protect the lives, property and environment of the people in the Village of Oldtown, Allegany County, Maryland and also afford the same protection to the general area covering those sections of Election District 2 bounded by Cresap Mill Road on the west; Little Orleans to the east; Pumpkin Center on the north; and the Potomac River on the south. The Department shall also assist in the protection of residents of Maryland and West Virginia by providing mutual aid assistance to other fire departments, as requested; Assist in Homeland Security in the event of either a natural disaster or terrorist action if called upon by the Federal or State governments; The Department will also protect the lives of fellow members of the Department through regular participation in training programs, by proper and safe use of all equipment, and by knowing and following the Standard Operating Guidelines.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 2	President Royce Crabtree is the spouse of Recording Secretary Cindy Crabtree, father of Sergeant At Arms Randon Crabtree and brother of Trustee Mark Crabtree. Member Glenda Keyser is the spouse of Life Member Charles Keyser. Recording Secretary Cindy Crabtree is the neice of Life Member Elwood Ginevan.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6	Membership in the Department is open to anyone ages 18 or older who live within the areas prescribed by our Constitution and ByLaws.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7a	Members of the Department who are active at the time of our annual elections in December are eligible to be nominated for office and cast ballots for hose nominees for each office.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7b	Decisions of the Department that are brouht to the floor for a vote are approved or disapproved by a simple majority vote of those present at that particular time. Changes to our ByLaws are entertained once a year and must garner three-fourths of those present and voting before being accepted. Any decision made by the Advisory Board is brought back to the membership meeting and reviewed for informational purposes.
