What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The purposes for which the Corporation is formed are to advocate for and build public awareness of issues related to fair, equal, and reasonably-priced access for the general public to professional and collegiate sports in the United States, including through access to stadiums and sports venues, television and radio programming, Internet distribution, special events, and other means by which sports are disseminated, and with respect to other issues important to sports fans generally, and other purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code or the corresponding provisions of any future United States Internal Revenue laws (the "Code").

28 From July 1, 2014 through June 30th 2015, Sports Fans Coalition (SFC) continued its advocacy against the proposed Comcast/Time Warner Cable merger as part of the "Stop Mega Comcast" coalition, eventually culminating in the successful outcome of the merger applicants withdrawing their applications to the Federal Communications Commission and U.S. Department of Justice. SFC also conducted advocacy as a member of the "Curb Auto Rental Taxes" coalition, given that many professional sports venues are funded by rental car sales taxes but do not provide a proportional return to sports fans wishing to attend games.
