What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? United Winegrowers for Sonoma County represents winery and vineyard owners regarding land use, water issues, and related agricultural concerns of the wine industry.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 United Winegrowers for Sonoma County played an active role in the following during the year ended December 31, 2015:1) Reviewed and commented on public projects affecting land use concerns of the organization including a regional recycled water irrigation project, open space acquisitions and winery permits.2) Tracked workshops and hearings related to development of an updated draft General Plan affecting land use developments, agricultural resources and habitat protections.3) Attended a series of workshops, public hearings and decision-making sessions on water issues facing the wine industry in Sonoma County.4) Contacted a wide array of community leaders and agency personnel representing the needs and interests of winery and vineyard owners regarding current operations and future direction.
