    DownArrow
Explain below how each activity for which income is reported in column (e) of Part XVI-A contributed importantly to
the accomplishment of the foundation’s exempt purposes (other than by providing funds for such purposes). (See
    instructions.)
1a Discount vendor fees are fees earned from charge cards related to hunting fees.
1b Hunting fees are primarily generated through the sale of bow hunts for deer to the general public. Although this generates a sizeable amount of revenue, the main purpose is to maintain a sustainable herd size. All harvesting is guided by quotas established by biologists and zoologists.
1c Summer Camp fees are generated from youth camps operated each summer for children 9 to 16 years of age. These camps emphasize outdoor skills, an appreciation for natural resources and the wise management of such resources.
1d The Foundation has entered into various Mitigation Contracts with different energy companies. In the contracts, the Foundation agrees to plant trees native to the area on some of its previously cleared land in exchange for fee. This is to mitigate any damage the energy companies have done to other lands/forests due to their energy production, exploration, etc. These contracts help the Foundation increase the acres of bottomland hardwood forest, which is one of the reasons of its founding; protect and manage a disappearing resource.
1e The Foundation conducts seminars and conferences during the year, most of which involve environmental, land use, and other issues that relate to the environmental nature of the Foundation's exempt purpose.
4 8 Dividends and interest are used and disbursed for the exempt purpose of Purvis Grange Foundation and long term capital gains increase the investment portfolio. Required minimum qualifying distributions are made yearly pursuant to the requirements of Part XIII.
