THE ORGANIZATION RAISES $3000 TO $4500 PER YEAR TOWARD SMALLER, HIGHLY VISIBLEUPGRADES TO THE FACILITY'S DOORS AND ENTRYWAYS;"B)--AS SOON AS STATE-WIDE GOVERNMENTAL FUNDS BECAME AVAILABLE FOR RESTORATION PROJECTSIN RHODE ISLAND, LA FARGE RESTORATION FUND APPLIED SUCCESSFULLY TO THE RHODE ISLAND HISTORICPRESERVATION COMMISSION FOR A GRANT OF $150,000 TOWARD INTERIOR MURALS RESTORATION. THE COMMISSION ANNOUNCED ITS CONDITIONAL INTENTION TO GIVE IN FY 2015 AND EXPECTS TO PAY OUT FUNDS IN FY 2016 AND FY 2017 AS WORK IS COMPLETED. THELFRF WILL BE APPLYING AGAIN TO THIS SOURCE AGAIN IN FY 2017 AND IT WILL CONTINUE TO SEEK OTHERPUBLIC SECTOR-FUNDED GRANTS; AND C)--SINCE 2008, THE LFRF BOARD OF DIRECTORS HAS NORMALLY SOUGHT FUNDING FROM A VARIETYOF FUNDERS AVAILABLE TO IT, INCLUDING FOUNDATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS. SOME REQUESTS HAVE BEENSUCCESSFUL OVER THE YEARS--1772 FOUNDATION, FELICIA FUND, OCEAN STATE CHARITIES TRUST, RHODEISLAND FOUNDATION, NATIONAL TRUST FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION, INDIVIDUALS AND BUSINESSES. SOMEREQUESTS HAVE NOT YET BEEN SUCCESSFUL--THE NEWPORT COUNTY FUND AND THE CHAMPLINFOUNDATIONS, FOR EXAMPLE. NOW THAT KEY INFRASTRUCTURE WORK HAS OCCURRED TO PROTECT THE INTERIORARTWORK IN AN UPGRADED BUILDING, THE LFRF EXPECTS TO ATTRACT ADDITIONAL FUNDERS, BOTH REGIONALLYAND NATIONALLY, WHO ARE MORE ATTUNED TO FUNDING THE ACTUAL ART RESTORATION THAN THE LESS VISIBLEINFRASTRUCTURE." "5. THE LA FARGE RESTORATION FUND NORMALLY PROVIDES PUBLIC ACCESS TO ITS FACILITY FOR MEMBERS OFTHE COMMUNITY AND VISITORS TO HEAR PRESENTATIONS ON THE HISTORY OF THE STRUCTURE AND OF THE ARTISTJOHN LA FARGE AND TO OBSERVE THE PROGRESS OF THE RESTORATION. EACH YEAR, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORSESCORTS MANY COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND VISITORS THROUGH THE SITE FOR INFORMAL TOURS. ADDITIONALLY, THE LA FARGE RESTORATION FUND IS A FOUNDING MEMBER OF THE "FOUR FAITHS FOURLANDMARKS" WALKING TOUR PROGRAM IN DOWNTOWN NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND. BESIDES NEWPORTCONGREGATIONAL CHURCH, THE OTHER NATIONAL HISTORIC LANDMARKS IN THE PROGRAM ARE TRINITYCHURCH, TOURO SYNAGOGUE AND ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH. ALL ARE WITHIN A HALF MILE OF EACHOTHER AND REPRESENT THE UNIQUE HISTORY OF RELIGIOUS EXPRESSION IN NEWPORT. THE PROGRAM HASOPERATED FOR TWO YEARS.AS AN EXAMPLE OF THE ORGANIZATION'S EDUCATIONAL SERVICES TO THE PUBLIC, 895 VISITORS TOURED THESANCTUARY IN THE 13 MONTHS FROM JULY 1, 2015 TO JULY 30, 2016. VISITORS CAME DURING REGULARLYSCHEDULED, AND ADVERTISED, OPEN HOURS FOR THEIR TOURS (439); THROUGH THE FOUR FAITHS FOURLANDMARKS TOURS IN SUMMER MONTHS ONLY (263) AND, FINALLY STUDENTS OF VARIOUS AGES CAMETHROUGH IN SPECIALIZED WORKSHOPS, CLASSES AND TOURS (193).
