For the past eight years the ACVO with the help of its sponsors has hosted the ACVO/Stokes National Service Dog Eye Exam Event. This event involves approximately 280 of our Veterinary Ophthalmologist Diplomates in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico who provide free screening eye exams to qualified Service Animals. Participation of our Diplomates is completely voluntary and they do not receive compensation for their time nor expenses. In 2015 over 7000 screening exams were provided. We estimate that services worth over $2,000,000 have been donated to the Service Animal Community as part of this event over the last eight years.
