| Significant program services not listed on prior year return Part III line 2 | LEADERSHIP ACADEMY The 100 Black Men of Greater Fort Lauderdale, in partnership with Florida Career College, has begun the development of our Leadership Academy. The Leadership Academy will teach youth the essentials of business, entrepreneurship, and economic development, while nurturing their natural leadership skills. The 100 Black Men of Greater Fort Lauderdale is very proud to partner with City Furniture to launch our Business Curriculum. The Business Curriculum covers everything from writing a resume and interviewing for a job; to the importance of finding a corporate mentor and understanding corporate values. Each Mentee completing our Leadership Academy will be in business for themselves and about themselves, with an understanding of the importance of self image and self respect. MILLION FATHER MARCH It has been proven that when a father or father figure is active in a childs education, the childs educational experience improves. The 100 Black Men of Greater Fort Lauderdale is encouraging all fathers and father figures to commit to being involved in a childs education. This commitment can start by joining fathers across the nation that are taking their kids to school on the first day of school. 100 BIKE DRIVE The 100 Black Men of Greater Fort Lauderdales popular Annual Bike Drive awards more than 100 bicycles to students throughout Broward County for their scholastic achievement. Students from elementary to middle school are awarded bicycles at a family event that not only recognizes the students for their achievement, but offers an afternoon of fun for the entire family. The organization provides bicycles for students that instituted hard work during the academic school year. 100 SCHOLARSHIP FUND The organization raise these funds for the students who need funding during there economic hardship while attending the Leadership Academy. They have over 50 young men from all areas of Broward County, registered in our Leadership Academy. These young men are at various stages in their lives and are seeking positive male influences and leadership. The 100 Black Men of Greater Fort Lauderdale continues to work to help make a difference in the lives of young men. Our Leadership Academy continues to grow with every new session as the good news continues to spread throughout our community. Judges have started appointing young men to our Leadership Academy as an alternative to the penile system. ONLINE TUTORING The 100 Black Men of Greater Fort Lauderdale has partnered with Academic One to improve the educational experiences of our youth. Many times our youth need academic assistance in order to maximize their intellectual capability. Often times, this academic assistance can be very costly for a family. Through our partnership with Academic One will seek to offer affordable on-line tutoring for our youth. More importantly it will provide an opportunity for South Florida corporations to get involved in this program by purchasing tutoring gift cards at a significant discount through the 100 Black Men of Greater Fort Lauderdale.The online tutoring program will offer assistance in Math and Science for 4th grade through college. |
