The then-President and now Chairman of AK-MPRN Board of Directors is also the Executive Director at the Marine Exchange of Alaska. The amount paid for services rendered during the year ended December 31, 2015 was $1,710,844. A new APC provider entered the market space in 2015 and subsequently another one in 2016. As such, the Organization is uncertain if these transactions would have occurred with a non-related party who could provide similar services. A fair and reasonable assessment needs to be conducted to ensure no excess benefits are being provided to this related party.
