This return was authorized for efile by the taxpayer prior to the approved extension of time to file, November 15, 2016. Form 8879-EO was timely executed and returned to the tax preparer.Due to a computer malfunction in the efile process experienced by the preparer, the return was not properly filed as of November 15, 2016. Upon discovery by the return preparer, the error was corrected and the return immediately filed by him on November 18, 2016.A copy of the form 8879-EO is attached to support our intent of timely filing.We respectfully request abatement of any penalties assessed for late filing, as such was not intentional and due to electronic device failure.
