What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The Association provides wireless internet service to its members who live and work in rural areas of Santa Fe county, New Mexico through a non-profit member-owned and operated community cooperative.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 The Association provides wireless internet services to its members in a rural area of Santa fe County, New Mexico. As a New Mexico cooperative, all decisions are made by the Board of Directors and the work of purchasing, installing and maintaining the necessary equipment is performed by the member volunteers and one technical consultant. The Association contracts with one accountant. In 2015, 99% of the Association's revenue came from the membership with a small amount of revenue received through the sale of used equipment. The Association grew to 430 members during the year as the coverage area was slightly expanded into more rural areas. The Association increased its purchase and installation of new equipment in its infrastructure during the year to provide improved service to its members.
