Alameda and King County are considered disregarded entities for federal income tax purposes. Their activities and mission are consistent with those of its Parent company, PPSWG. Alameda and King Countys financial operations are reported on a consolidated basis with PPSWGs tax exempt Federal Form 990 filing. Thus, Alameda and King County are subject only to state income taxes as for-profit limited liability companies.The Group has adopted the authoritative guidance relating to uncertainty in income taxes included in ASC Topic Income Taxes. These provisions provide consistent guidance for the accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in an entitys financial statements and prescribe a threshold of more likely than not for recognition and de-recognition of tax positions taken or expected to be taken in a tax return. The Group performed an evaluation of uncertain tax positions for the year ended December 31, 2015, and determined that there were no material matters that would require recognition in the financial statements or that may have an effect on its tax-exempt status. As of December 31, 2015, the statute of limitations for the Groups income tax returns for years 2013 and 2014 remain open with the Federal, state, and local authorities. It is the Groups policy to recognize interest and/or penalties related to uncertain tax positions, if any, in income tax expense.
