What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The purposes of the Corporation shall be those of the American Foundry Society, namely, exclusively to advance through research and education the arts and sciences relating to the manufacture and utilization of metal castings; and, specifically to the industrial arts foundry and metallurgical programs in local high schools and colleges and to support the Foundry Educational Foundation.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.

29 Promote understanding of the foundry industry by going to local schools and colleges to present the benefits and challenges of the foundry industry - program highlights are Annual Student Night in March and school FIB presentations. Student Night features local foundries tours and presentation at Muskegon Community College - attendance about 250 students. FIB (Foundry in a Box) presentations take a small working "foundry" into schools showing students the fundamentals of pouring and shaping metal. We do about 10 a year and classes average around 25 students. Resources of time and facilities is usually all volunteer.

30 Annually at our Student Night we present the stipends awarded to students pursuing education in our industry through our application process. Our annual Golf Outing main purpose is to raise money for these stipends and our goal is to award at least 80% of the proceeds. Generally, we award about 30 stipends.
