| Part IX-B, Line 1 | During the tax year, the Foundation entered into a loan agreement with Offerdahl's Hand-Off Foundation, a related 501(c)(3) public charity, in furtherance of the Foundation's exempt purposes. The purpose of the loan is to provide start-up capital for the creation and setup of a new program activity of the recipient organization. This new program activity is an initiative to provide affordable housing to needy individuals in South Florida, and is planned to be conducted directly by the recipient organization in partnership with other exempt organizations. This activity is planned to begin in 2016. The loan by the Foundation provided the necessary funds to assist in covering the initial setup costs for this program which were incurred by the recipient organization. The Foundation monitors the use of the loaned funds and the repayment of the balance due by receiving regular reports on the use of the funds from the recipient organization, and by virtue of the fact that certain Board members of the Foundation also serve on the Board of the recipient organization. |
