Dear IRS, Humbly we request a waiver of our late filing fees for the 2013 and 2014 990 tax reports. Originally the past CEO requested an extension to August 2014 to file the 2013 990 report. The report was never filed. We had a transition in management in April of 2014 with an interim CEO who is also the treasurer on the board of directors. Then the new CEO was hired. We did not realize that the 2013 report had never been filed. In fact, we did not realize the report had not been filed until we received notice of the 2014 year end report being due. Shortly after that notice the treasurer got sick and was out of work for several months. Today we are including the filings for years 2013 and 2014. The 2015 report is being filed on time and will be filed on time from now on. We realize that we are late and owe late fees. However we are a small credit union served by a volunteer board of directors and an expense like this is a big liability for us. Please consider waiving late fees for us.
