What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? To advance psychology as a science and as a profession by supporting the academic community and providing psychological knowledge to the general public.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 In 2015, the Mississippi Psychological Association continued as a source of information regarding scope of practice issues and other possible trends or laws that could affect the practice of psychology in the state affecting Psychologists and the citizens of the state.The educational conference brought an increased attendance in the 2 years proceeding and offered quality Peer-Reviewed programs that were approved toward the required continuing education set forth by the Mississippi State Board of Psychology and the American Psychological Association. In addition to the regular convention educational sessions, MPA worked with the Mississippi State Board of Psychology to provide a workshop on the process and assessment for Civil Commitments in Mississippi. This was part one of a two-part process.
