Return Reference Explanation
Part X, Line 2: The Association is a not for profit corporation exempt from income taxes under section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (IRC). As such, the Association is not taxed on income derived from its exempt functions. However, the Association is subject to tax on unrelated business income, which is generated from the Association's quarterly publication. Management has determined that there are no uncertain tax positions that would require recognition in the financial statements. If the Association were to incur an income tax liability in the future, interest on any income tax liability would be reported as interest expense and penalties on any income tax would be reported as income taxes. Management's conclusions regarding uncertain tax positions may be subject to review and adjustment at a later date based on ongoing analysis of tax laws, regulations, and interpretations thereof as well as other factors.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 6 The Organization has members, and all decisions regarding the amendment of the Organization's by-laws are subject to the approval of the members.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7a The Organization's nominating committee makes nominations to the Board of Directors regarding new members of the Board of Directors. Once accepted by the Board of Directors, the members vote on the decision at the annual convention.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7b As per the Organization's by-laws, any changes to the by-laws must be voted on by the entire membership.
