Generally, the Organization is no longer subject to Income Tax examinations by major taxing authorities for years before fiscal 2007. Form 990, Part III, Line 1 Florida New Majority FNM is a 501c4 organization that organizes, educates and mobilizes communities in Florida to win equity and fairness throughout the state. Its mission is to overcome the history of racism and division in Florida. By building common cause among diverse communities FNM promotes expansion of democracy and development of leadership in underepresented communities. To shift the role of government away from corporate interest and support the well being of all Floridians.
Form 990, Part V, Line 6b Grants received during the year were from donors who had funds to give organizations exempt under IRC section 501c4. Grant proposals were prepared that clearly provided the organizations tax exempt status.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11 A draft of the return is reviewed by the President and the organization attorney. Changes and additions are made to the return based on their review. A revised draft is then provided and approved before release.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c FNM conducts an annual review of annual disclosure forms submitted by covered persons. FNM compiles and maintains a list of potentially conflicted entities and individuals. Proposed transactions can then be matched against the list as a means of identifying potential conflicts. With major vendors and service provideres FNM considers asking each to disclose any relationship personal, financial or otherwise the vendor or service provider has or may have with any of the FNM director, officers, employees or volunteers.
