| 990 page 10 part IX Line 24a Contributions | The Moles Scholarship Fund In April 1996, The Moles established The Moles Scholarship Fund ("The Fund"). The Fund is held and administered within Community Funds, Inc., the 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit corporation of the New York Community Trust. The purpose of The Fund is to provide scholarships for deserving students studying civil engineering at various educational institutions. The Moles makes an annual contribution to the scholarship fund, based upon a net income calculation for the Agency. For the year ended April 30, 2016, $150,000 was donated by the Agency to the Fund. Annual recommendations for scholarships from The Fund are made via an advisory committee made up of The Moles members. Ultimate approval of those disbursements is made via the Board of Directors of Community Funds, Inc. as fund disbursements are made in accordance with their spending policies. Contributions to The Fund by The Moles, Moles members, and other donors can only be used for scholarship grants. The Moles do not have the right to access the money within The Fund, and therefore these assets are not included on The Moles statement of net assets. |
