PERMANENT HOUSING: FOR 154 HOMELESS MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN. (A)DRMM'S PERMANENT HOUSING FOR DISABLED HOMELESS PEOPLE PROVIDED HOUSING AND SOCIAL SERVICES TO 154 SINGLE HOMELESS DISABLED MEN AND HOMELESS FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN. THEY ARE ELIGIBLE FOR PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING FOR AS LONG AS THEY NEED OR UNTIL THEY ARE ABLE TO MOVE TO OTHER HOUSING OF THEIR CHOICE. BASED ON THEIR PERSONAL PLAN (WHICH IS DESIGNED TO HELP THEM MAINTAIN INCOME, NEEDED SERVICES AND HOUSING), THE FOLLOWING SERVICES ARE PROVIDED: MENTAL HEALTH, MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE, AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT AND RECOVERY SERVICES. AMONG THOSE PEOPLE WE HOUSED, WERE HOMELESS VETERANS AND PEOPLE WITH MENTAL ILLNESSES OR DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. WE HELPED THEM FIND EMPLOYMENT AND INCOME FROM ENTITLEMENT PROGRAMS (SUCH AS STATE SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY INCOME AND FOOD STAMPS). (B) ANOTHER OF OUR PERMANENT HOUSING PROGRAMS, PROVIDED HOMES IN RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS TO 8 HOUSEHOLDS HEADED BY FORMERLY HOMELESS ADULTS WHO WERE HOMELESS DESPITE THE FACT THAT THEY WERE EMPLOYED. THAT PROGRAM ENABLES THE FAMILIES TO LIVE IN A PRIVATE HOME UNTIL THE TIME THE DEED TO THE HOME IS TRANSFERRED TO THEM. AT THE END OF THE AGREED UPON PERIOD OF TIME, THOSE WHO HAVE MAINTAINED TAX PAYMENTS, UTILITIES, A SAVINGS ACCOUNT FOR THEIR CHILDREN'S EDUCATION, AND THE PROPERTY ITSELF ARE GIVEN THE DEED TO THE HOME. IN 2017, THIS PROGRAM WILL BE CONVERTED TO PROVIDE TRANSITIONAL HOUSING TO REPLACE OVER 300 LOST TRANSITIONAL HOUSING BEDS IN 2016. |

AT OUR WILDWOOD RANCH PROGRAM, 209 CHILDREN WERE PROVIDED A SIX-DAY OVERNIGHT SUMMER CAMPING PROGRAM AND AN ADDITIONAL 403 DAY CAMPERS ATTENDED ONE TO 5 DAYS A WEEK. AT OUR CAMP BURT SHURLY PROGRAM, FUNDED BY DETROIT PUBLIC SCHOOLS, 462 CHILDREN PARTICIPATED IN THE 6-DAY OVERNIGHT PROGRAM AND 1,518 DAY CAMPERS WERE PROVIDED SERVICE. SERVICES FOR SENIOR CITIZENS: 13 SENIOR CITIZENS USING GENERAL OPERATING FUNDS, WE PROVIDED 13 HIGHLAND PARK, MICHIGAN SENIOR CITIZENS DAILY WITH RECREATION AND FITNESS TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR 8,112 HOURS. OPERATIONS SERVICES: IN ADDITION TO THE SERVICES STATED ABOVE, DRMM PROVIDES FREE CLOTHING, FREE FOOD, JUICE, AND MILK, AND PROVIDES TRANSPORTATION TO THOUSANDS OF INDIVIDUALS EACH YEAR. ESTIMATIONS OF THESE SERVICES IN 2016 ARE AS FOLLOWS: "850,000+ PIECES OF CLOTHING "120,000+ POUNDS OF FOOD TO COMMUNITY RESIDENTS DURING WEEKLY DISTRIBUTION EVENTS "9,000 RIDERS FROM DRMM TREATMENT AND HOMELESS SERVICES PROGRAMS WERE TRANSPORTED FOR MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS AND COMMUNITY EVENTS THAT SUPPORTED THEM IN ACHIEVING GOALS TO HELP THEM ACHIEVE SELF-SUFFICIENCY. "1.5 MILLION MEALS WERE SERVED TO HOMELESS, ADDICTED OR LOW-INCOME INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES. "10,707+ VOLUNTEERS DONATED MORE THAN 31,000 HOURS OF TIME (AMOUNTING TO MORE THAN 748,340) SERVING MEALS, PROVIDING CLERICAL AND ADMIN SUPPORT, PROVIDING SKILLED LABOR, AND PROVIDING SPIRITUAL LIFE TO AID IN DRMM'S WORK "MORE THAN 20,000 POUNDS OF FRESH PRODUCE WAS GROWN IN COLLABORATION WITH OUR URBAN GARDEN PARTNER, BUCKETS OF RAIN, PROVIDING MORE THAN 61,600 MEAL SERVINGS TO OUR SOUP KITCHENS AND MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY "OVER 616 CHILDREN EACH RECEIVED AN AVERAGE VALUE OF 125 GIFTS FOR CHRISTMAS THROUGH OUR ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY DRIVE. IN ADDITION, AT THE "CHRISTMAS STORE", WE WERE ABLE TO HELP AN ADDITIONAL 300 CHILDREN RECEIVE TOYS, CLOTHES, AND HYGIENE ITEMS AS WELL 500 ADULT CLIENTS WHO RECEIVED CLOTHING AND HYGIENE GIFTS. THE TOTAL OF THOSE WE SERVICED WAS 1,887 PEOPLE. THERE WERE OVER 2,000 COATS COLLECTED THROUGH DRIVES AND DONATIONS AND ALL CLIENTS THAT ATTENDED THE PARTY WERE ABLE TO PICK OUT A COAT FOR THEMSELVES AS WELL AS THEIR CHILDREN IF NECESSARY AS WELL. OVER 3000 HYGIENE KITS WERE PROVIDED BY DONORS AND ALL CLIENTS AND CHILDREN RECEIVED A KIT. OVER 2200 PEOPLE ATTENDED THE PARTY INCLUDING CLIENTS OF OUR FACILITIES, CLIENTS FROM THE COMMUNITY, SPONSORS, AND VOLUNTEERS AND EMPLOYEES. 200 BACKPACKS WERE DISTRIBUTED TO LOW INCOME FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN DURING OUR CHRISTMAS PARTY CELEBRATION |
