| Form 990, Part III, Line 4d: Other Program Services Description | OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: Casa San Juan is a shelter for adult females and their children who are in the custody of the U.S. Marshal, Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, or Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The program offers semi-independent living in a clean, safe, sober and secure homelike environment with basic custodial care and supportive services. These services include meals, clothing, referral to medical, dental and mental health services, educational programs and recreational activities. Casa San Juan served 360 unduplicated adult women and their children. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: Immigrant Services provides assistance to individuals who qualify for immigration benefits, regardless of ethnic background. The offices in San Diego and Imperial Counties offer immigration counseling and application assistance to very low to moderate income clientele. The program assisted 6,300 people through casework and group orientation sessions held in a variety of venues. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: Emergency Services programs provide immediate needs assistance to homeless and low-income individuals and families in San Diego and Imperial Counties. Food Resources Centers provide food and make support services referrals for homeless and low-income individuals and families in San Diego and Imperial Counties. The four Food Resource Centers provide food, CalFresh (food stamp) application assistance and referrals for working poor families, seniors and homeless persons. The four FRCs provided food assistance to 38,979 households representing 91,264 people of which 25,216 were children. 220,728 bags of groceries were distributed during the year. Case Management provides services to the homeless population and working class poor in a professional setting, to help identify and eliminate barriers that are the cause of their current crisis. These services include, but are not limited to: assessments, case planning, goal setting, budgeting, rental assistance, hotel vouchering, emergency senior loans, shelter placement, referrals, and linkages. The Department served 844 unduplicated clients. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 7: Homeless Mens Services provides short-term emergency shelter and case management to general homeless men, day laborers and farm workers. La Posada de Guadalupe is located in North San Diego County and Our Lady of Guadalupe is located in Imperial County city of Calexico. Homeless Mens Services Department provided services for 781 unduplicated clients. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 8: Clinical Services is a state licensed psychology clinic providing counseling and assessment services. Individual, couple, family, and group counseling and assessment services are aimed toward developing and preserving the dignity and well-being of individuals and families, as well as enhancing life skills. Professional staff provided 2,224 individual, couple, family or group counseling sessions to 237 unduplicated clients. Approximately 98% of these individuals lived in households with incomes at or below the federal poverty level. The School Counseling program provided long-term counseling and/or assessment services to 59 children and their families. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 9: Pregnancy and Adoption Services:Catholic Charities Adoption Agency is state-licensed and provides services to birthparents and adoptive couples. The services include birthparent counseling, referral to support services, placement, adoption education classes, homestudies, temporary foster care, finalization services, post-adoption support and parenting support. Additionally, infant clothing and supplies are given to birthparents who choose to parent. The Agency certified 7 prospective adoptive parents, finalized 7 adoptions and provided counseling and support services to 17 pregnant women, six who placed their infants for adoption and eleven who parented. The Caregiver Adoption Program completed 27 homestudies and 26 finalizations through our county-contracted Caregiver Adoption program. Parenting resources were provided to 261 mothers and fathers who received infant clothing, diapers, blankets and baby equipment. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 10: Catholic Charities Covered California Program provides outreach, education, and enrollment assistance for Medi-Cal and private health insurance through the State exchange. The program also prescreens, assists with applications, and advocates for CalFresh (food stamps). Between Imperial and San Diego Counties, the Covered California Program has outreached to 12,234 households; conducted educations for 4,654 households; and submitted 519 Covered California applications, 98 Covered California Renewals, 612 Medi-Cal, and 428 CalFresh applications OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 11: Imperial Countys Continuum of Care - Catholic Charities operates the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) for the Imperial Valley Homeless Task Force, and under contract of the County of Imperial. HMIS tracks homeless persons, as data is collected from the agencies and providers that serve homeless persons, to determine gaps and services and improve service delivery benefiting the Imperial Valley community. |
