The Organization provides annual grant and provides services of its staff to a non-profit community development organization that focuses on supporting neighborhood capacity building efforts in the Organizations service area.

Since 2008, the Organization has participated in a federal tax credit program that is used to stimulate investment in econcomically distressed communities. The Orgranization has been awared new market tax credit allocation authority which has been used to finance job creating businesses and as a catalyst for real estate development projects in its service area predominately economically distressed census tracts in the urban core of Kansas City, Missouri.

In FY2016 AltCap provided small and microloans to a variety of businesses through its targeted loan funds which include the facade improvement loan fun, ArtCap Microloan Fund for Artists, and the Diversified Contractors Growth Fund MBE/WBE contractor loan fund.

X 2 The preparation of financial statements in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America requires the Organization to report information regarding its exposure to various tax positions taken by the Organization. The Organization has determined whether any tax positions have met the recognition threshold and has measured its exposure to those tax positions and there are no unrecorded tax liabilities.
V 4 In closing of certain New Market Tax Credit NMTC transactions, the Organization entered into certain indemnification agreements. The indemnification agreements required the Organization to maintain cash reserves equal to 50 of certain fees earned at the closing of certain NMTC transactions. At the expiration of the indemnification agreement, the Organizations will be able to use the unrestricted funds in any manner it chooses.
